Painted Nude

November 6, 2013

There’s something really satisfying about finishing a piece that you’ve spent weeks working on. Even better when the final result is completely different, and better, than what you imagined it would be.

That’s exactly what happened to me tonight.

After my life drawing pencil sketches back in early September, I decided I wanted to work on one figure on a larger scale… and… in paint… (I hear you gasp!) Pushing two comfort boundaries in one go!

The monitor dulls the vibrancy of the tones and the texture of the paint, which is unfortunate, and it’s a little more abstract that I usually go in terms of colour and tone, but the final outcome works.

Judge for yourselves:

  1. The red, blue and purple are super sweet together. I love it.
