About as far north as I can go

August 14, 2013

It’s always nice to get out of the city, and Israel is one of those countries with just about every type of landscape within a few hours drive of Tel Aviv. The Negev desert, the Galillee and the white chalk cliffs and natural grottoes of Rosh HaNikra.
The latter features in part 3 of my pen sketches.

I visited Rosh HaNikra, right on the Lebanon border, earlier this year. I don’t think my sketches do it justice, but I hope I’ve captured a little of the vibrant colours and atmospheric caves.

I really enjoy this combination of pen and watercolour. Whilst my 3 part series is now complete, I’ll no doubt use this technique in the future. Maybe next time I’ll try a portrait or an interior rather than a landscape….
